For those of you who weren’t there, the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards (OEAA) Showcase was held this past weekend in Benson. All told, 80 bands performed over two days at seven neighborhood venues. To coincide with Benson First Friday, 40 artists were showcased in the different venues, too.
And, when all was said and done, one band was voted on by attendees to open Maha. An awesome honor – and a coveted spot. This year’s winner? Purveyors of the Conscious Sound, a four-member group dedicated to pushing the boundaries of “conscious hip-hop.” PCS’s new album, Lifers 2, is set for a June 26 release. And according to band member Jake Dawson, they’re ready to show everyone at Maha – from parents to the passionate folks in the front row – a good time.
